Life in Whisperun

Whisperun lies nestled at the foot of the Whispering Peaks, a small mountain range steeped in mystery and lore. From these peaks flows the Whispersong, a placid river that begins as a cascading waterfall and winds its way through the Faedarke. Near the village, the river encircles a small island, home to Heart’s Dawn, the sacred world tree whose sprawling branches stretch across the island.

The Faedarke O’Wyrdkin village reflects their philosophy: simple, sustainable, and deeply connected to the natural world. Their homes are woven into the forest rather than built upon it, blending harmoniously with the surrounding trees and streams. The Elderhollow

The Elderhollow, Mossgrieve, enjoys the company of the Wyrdkin and often twists his bark into a visage less frightening to humans—unlike many of his kin.

Now, the Elderhollow coexist as allies, offering cryptic wisdom to the Wyrdkin and aiding in the forest’s protection. Their sharp humor and gruff demeanor mask a deep bond with the witches, who often seek their guidance in matters of magic and harmony. Together, they ensure the Faedarke remains untamed and whole.

As the Wyrdkin witch plants her Living Staff into the soil of its mother forest, its roots wiggle down to connect with the forest’s vast root network. Through her bonded staff, the witch channels her magic, weaving it seamlessly into the living web of the forest.

Clan Faedarke O’Wyrdkin are the originators of Living Staves, an art they perfected over generations with guidance from the trees of the Faedarke, including the Elderhollow and Heart’s Dawn. Over three days, they tracked the Nighthaunt through the Faedarke, Verdia’s roots guiding them like a lifeline through the web of life. The battle was fierce, leaving four warriors gravely wounded, but the Wyrdkin prevailed.

She uses her sharp intelligence and natural charisma to steer negotiations and trade arbitrations in the Wyrdkin’s favor.
